Addressing the Controversy Head-On

The studio opted to face the community directly following allegations from former translator Max Hejtmanek, who claimed he was terminated and his position made “obsolete” in favor of AI implementation. Creative Director Prokop Jirsa acknowledged the tension surrounding the event, noting that the team “decided to go in head first” to clear the air regarding their stance on automation.

AI Policy and Human Roles

When pressed on the future of human staff, Jirsa explicitly stated that the studio does not intend to replace its team with technology. “Hopefully none of us [will be replaced], and never. And that applies to the whole team,” Jirsa responded when asked which developers were most vulnerable to AI automation.

Regarding the specific claims made by Hejtmanek, the studio remained tight-lipped due to internal privacy policies. “This touches on internal HR matters, so I can’t comment on any present or past employee. That would be deeply unprofessional,” Jirsa added. However, he clarified that the studio maintains the same number of human translators for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 as they utilized for the original title.

Recruitment and Future Production

In response to fans questioning the viability of a career in translation at the studio, Jirsa confirmed that recruitment is ongoing. “Definitely. We are currently in the process of hiring new translators. Yes, actual humans. Plural,” he noted.

The official Warhorse Studios account issued a final statement to clarify their operational philosophy: “We do not see AI as a substitute for human work, and we are currently looking to expand the company, including our translation team.”

Final Stance on AI Implementation

The studio drew a clear line regarding the extent of their technological integration. While acknowledging that some team members utilize AI tools during the preliminary phases of development, they emphasized that no AI-generated content is present in the final version of the game. “We do not use AI-generated content in the final game and we have no plans to change this in the future,” the studio concluded.

While the AMA provided a more detailed response than previous statements, the specific circumstances regarding the departure of individual staff members remain unaddressed. Meanwhile, the studio continues to focus on its primary goal: delivering an immersive, detail-rich RPG that aims to improve upon the technical stability of its predecessor.
