Ozlo, the hardware startup known for its noise-masking Sleepbuds, is aggressively transitioning into a comprehensive data platform for sleep health, with expansion plans unveiled this week at CES in Las Vegas.
The company is moving beyond simple consumer hardware, aiming to capture revenue through software subscriptions and healthcare-grade technology. This strategic shift involves leveraging AI, integrating with third-party health apps, and entering the medical device market following a recent neurotech acquisition.
Building an Ecosystem for Better Rest

Ozlo co-founder and CEO NB Patil noted that the company was designed as an ecosystem from day one. By building proprietary iOS and Android SDKs, Ozlo allows its hardware sensors—which monitor body movement and respiration—to communicate with external services.
A recent partnership with the meditation app Calm illustrates this potential. While app creators currently struggle to measure the real-world efficacy of their content, Ozlo’s sensors can track if a user actually falls asleep or relaxes during a session. This creates a feedback loop that could allow partners to refine their content based on objective physiological data.

Beyond meditation, Ozlo is targeting tinnitus therapy. Following a study with Walter Reed Hospital, the company plans to launch a subscription-based tinnitus masking service in Q2 2026, designed to retrain the brain to ignore ringing sounds.
AI Integration and Sleep Coaching

Ozlo is doubling down on artificial intelligence to provide actionable sleep insights. Following the November launch of “Sleep Patterns,” the company intends to introduce an AI-powered “sleep buddy” agent by Q2 2026. This assistant will interact with users, synthesize data from wearable devices and Apple HealthKit, and eventually connect with IoT smart home devices to automate environmental settings, such as adjusting room temperature for optimal rest.
Hardware Expansion and EEG Technology
The company is also refining its physical product lineup. A next-generation charging case—featuring improved contours for easier earbud docking, a dedicated Bluetooth button, and enhanced antenna range—is slated for a Q2 release. Additionally, Ozlo will debut a bedside speaker designed for demographics that prefer not to wear earbuds, such as children and the elderly. This device will include sensors to monitor sleep disturbances or falls.

Strategic Growth
A cornerstone of this expansion is the acquisition of Segotia, an Irish neurotech firm specializing in EEG technology. By integrating EEG sensors into eartips, Ozlo aims to measure brain electrical signals to derive precise data on sleep stages and awareness states. A product utilizing this technology is expected in 2027.
To support this ambitious roadmap, Ozlo is currently finalizing a Series B funding round, with further details expected shortly.
