Kirsty Rider, the voice actor behind Lune in the hit RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has confirmed she would be “delighted” to reprise her role in a potential sequel, though she is currently not involved in any franchise expansion discussions.

The Future of the Expedition 33 Universe
Following the significant success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, industry attention has shifted toward developer Sandfall Interactive and their next strategic move. While fans and players are eager for news regarding a sequel or spin-off, the creative direction remains under wraps, leaving the cast in the dark regarding potential continuations.
Speaking to GamesRadar+ at the BAFTA Games Awards, Kirsty Rider addressed the persistent fan inquiries about her character’s future. “People often talk to me who haven’t played it, and they’re like, ‘Oh yeah, because you can come back as Lune and do a sequel and things,’” Rider noted. “Obviously, naturally, I’d always hope to get to play Lune again, because I do love her. Don’t know how that would work, but if there was a world where that could happen, I’d be delighted with that.”
Narrative Hurdles and Studio Plans
The possibility of Lune’s return faces narrative challenges, particularly due to the game’s branching ending. For a character return to occur, Sandfall Interactive would likely need to establish a specific ending as canon or explore alternative timelines within the established universe. The feasibility of such a project rests entirely on the studio’s long-term development roadmap.

Rider hinted that while she is aware Sandfall is exploring ideas for the Clair Obscur universe, she remains outside the loop on specific project developments. “I think, just thinking about it as a game, aside from whether they make it into a franchise—and I think they are expanding the world, I think they’ve spoken about things like that, right?” she observed.
“I can say there’s conversations about more which I’m not in. So I actually don’t have anything to spoil,” Rider added. Given the critical acclaim of the title, it is widely expected that the studio is evaluating future projects. Whether these include direct sequels or new stories, the strength of the original cast remains a significant asset for any future expansion.
Amidst a challenging industry climate marked by widespread layoffs, Rider also emphasized the importance of the studio’s culture, expressing hope that any future installments continue to “value the amazing people who made this” initial success possible.
