Stardew Valley developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has officially confirmed that the massive 1.6 update will launch for console and mobile players on November 4.

The Wait for Stardew Valley 1.6 Ends
In a direct announcement shared on Sunday, Barone ended months of speculation by stating: “release date for Stardew Valley console & mobile 1.6 update: November 4.” This confirmation signals that non-PC players have approximately six weeks remaining before they can access the content that has been available on computers since March.
A Massive Content Expansion
The 1.6 update represents a significant milestone for the game, bringing over 500 changes to the Stardew Valley experience. PC players have already been enjoying a wealth of new features, including additional crops, fresh dialogue, new neighbors, and new pets. Beyond the content additions, the update includes extensive quality-of-life improvements, critical bug fixes, and hidden secrets that have kept the community engaged for months.
Development Focus and Future Projects
The delay for console and mobile ports was not due to a lack of effort. Barone emphasized in July that the update was “on his mind every minute.” His commitment to parity across all platforms has been so intense that he admitted to putting work on his upcoming project, Haunted Chocolatier, on hold for an extended period.
With the release date now set for Stardew Valley 1.6, development on Haunted Chocolatier is expected to resume. While fans have seen only brief glimpses of the new game—the last being a small update in March and a series of screenshots from last fall—the focus remains firmly on finalizing the current Stardew Valley experience. There are currently no plans for a 1.7 update, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in the 1.6 content upon its arrival.
