Microsoft officially launched the beta version of its Copilot for Gaming assistant this Wednesday, bringing AI-powered support to the Xbox app on both iOS and Android platforms.
Intelligent Assistance for Your Gaming Journey
This early iteration of the assistant is designed to provide personalized gaming insights. By leveraging your specific account data—including play history, achievement progress, and subscription status—Copilot can answer complex queries. Users can seek advice on how to improve their Gamerscore, request personalized game recommendations based on their favorite genres, or check specific details about their account, such as upcoming Game Pass renewal dates or recent milestones in titles like Starfield.
Seamless Integration Without Distractions
“In this early version of the feature for mobile, you’ll be able to access Copilot for Gaming on a second screen, without distracting you from your core gameplay experience,” noted Taylor O’Malley, principal program manager at Xbox, in a recent blog post.

How the Technology Works
When a user submits a query, Copilot synthesizes individual player activity data with public information indexed by Bing to generate accurate, relevant responses. Looking ahead, Microsoft confirmed it is actively developing more sophisticated features for the tool, including proactive coaching and deeper levels of personalization to assist players during their sessions.
Regional Availability
The beta is currently available in English for users aged 18 and older across a wide range of territories, including the USA, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Japan, Mexico, and many others across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Microsoft has indicated that it intends to expand the availability of this experience to additional regions in the near future.
