Capcom is currently utilizing Diana, the protagonist of its upcoming title Pragmata, to hijack the social media accounts of its various franchises, humorously roasting Resident Evil icons and their dedicated fanbases.

Diana Takes Over Capcom’s Social Media
Earlier this week, the official Pragmata Twitter account began a cross-franchise takeover. Posing as Diana, the account announced, “After I hacked into those strange objects, I got access to a whole bunch of new data.” The digital stunt included imagery featuring trinkets from Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, and Onimusha, with Diana confirming she would be infiltrating other official accounts to share her findings.
Mocking Resident Evil’s Biggest Moments and Mysteries
Beyond simple cameos, Capcom is using Diana to poke fun at long-standing memes within the community. One post directly references Chris Redfield’s infamous Resident Evil 5 boulder-punching incident, with Diana quipping, “I’m having so much fun getting all this data! Ooh, I found out that one time, someone PUNCHED a boulder just because it was in his way!”
She also targeted the Resident Evil fandom’s relentless curiosity regarding Leon Kennedy’s personal life. “I found a file with a bunch of details on different agents. Ooh! There’s one on someone named Leon too…but I can’t crack the security! But I bet there’s nothing important in there that everyone’s dying to know, right?”
Teasing Monster Hunter and Beyond
The trolling extends to the Monster Hunter community as well. The franchise’s account shared a post from Diana claiming, “I found a file in the ‘Monster Hunter Stories 3’ folder that says ‘DeviljhoTail.mp4’ but I’m not sure what that means. It says ‘highly confidential’ so I guess I’ll leave it alone for now!” This serves as a nod to a persistent Mandela effect within the community regarding whether the Deviljho actually eats its own tail—an event that has never occurred in the games.
Diana’s digital journey has also seen her attempt to hack into Mega Man and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess accounts, though she noted these attempts were unsuccessful. Additionally, she has engaged with community fan art, including a crossover featuring Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance villain Senator Armstrong. This connection is particularly poignant as Pragmata director Yonghee Cho worked on Metal Gear Rising, contributing to the design of characters like Armstrong. Cho acknowledged the crossover on Twitter with a brief, surprised “OMG.”
