Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, has officially confirmed that Rockstar Games is preparing to ramp up marketing for GTA 6 “soon,” providing a much-needed update as fans approach the one-year anniversary of the game’s second trailer.

The Growing Anticipation for GTA 6
The gaming community is nearing the one-year mark since the release of the second GTA 6 trailer, and the silence from Rockstar has been profound. Following reports of internal delays, the lack of official updates has fueled intense speculation regarding the title’s development status and whether it will realistically meet its current release target.
Sticking to the Marketing Roadmap
Earlier this year, reports confirmed that Rockstar’s comprehensive launch marketing campaign was scheduled to kick off during the summer window, typically spanning June through August. Despite rampant fan theories suggesting an earlier reveal, the timeline remains consistent with the developer’s original roadmap.
What Take-Two Says About the Delay Concerns
Speaking at the Interactive Innovation Conference (iicon) this week, Zelnick addressed the lack of information without providing a specific date for the next reveal. By promising that news is coming “soon,” the executive aims to alleviate fears that the prolonged radio silence might indicate further schedule shifts. Zelnick has previously expressed “high confidence” in the current release date, though fans remain cautious given the volatility of previous project timelines.
As the industry moves deeper into the year, the focus remains squarely on Rockstar. While skepticism persists among the player base, the promise of upcoming marketing suggests that the final stretch of the promotional cycle is finally within reach.
The conversation surrounding the game has also been amplified by Take-Two’s recent announcement regarding a delayed financial call, which many industry observers believe could be the perfect moment for a major update to fill the current information gap.
