Diablo 4 Hotfixes Patch Progression Bugs and Necro Nerfs

Blizzard has deployed a series of critical hotfixes for Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred to resolve progression-blocking bugs and neutralize overpowered Necromancer skills that were trivializing end-game content.

Fixing Progression Blockers and the Talisman Tab

The expansion’s launch was hampered by login queues and technical hurdles, but the latest updates aim to stabilize the experience. The primary focus of the first hotfix was the elusive Talisman tab, a key feature of the new expansion that failed to unlock for many players.

Community manager Rich ‘filthierich’ Bantegui confirmed the fix: “Fixed an issue where if the Last of the Horadrim quest was completed in a party, only one party member would be credited with completion and the Talisman tab would not unlock for other party members.” Previously, Blizzard suggested players complete the quest solo on an alternate character to bypass the bug, but this patch resolves the group-play conflict.

Additionally, Blizzard addressed a progression stall in the quest “The Soil, The Seed, the Fruit.” While the team is aware of similar issues affecting the “She Sleeps Within You” quest, a fix for that specific mission is still in the works.

Necromancer Skills and Monster Health Tweaks

Beyond quest fixes, Blizzard released a second hotfix for version 3.01 targeting game balance. The update specifically nerfs two Necromancer skills that were dealing unintended amounts of damage: the Schadenfreude variant for Iron Maiden and the Bramble Variant for Bone Prison.

The impact of these adjustments is significant. Some players reported massive damage drops, with one user on the D4Necromancer subreddit noting their output plummeted from 705 million damage at Paragon 95 to approximately 205,000 following the changes.

The update also adjusted the health pools of specific enemies, including Pangs of Duriel and those found in Infernal Prison, which were previously scaled much higher than intended. These changes represent a major step in balancing the new expansion’s difficulty as the community continues to explore the latest content.
