Anno 117: Pax Romana Demo Arrives September 2

Ubisoft has officially confirmed a playable demo for Anno 117: Pax Romana launching on September 2, providing players with an early opportunity to experience the highly anticipated city builder before its full 2025 release.

A New Standard for City Builders

During the FGS Live broadcast from Gamescom, Ubisoft showcased the title they are positioning as the “premier builder game of 2025.” Creative Director Manuel Reinher emphasized that Anno 117: Pax Romana aims to deliver the Roman fantasy with unprecedented scale and intricate detail.

“Our game offers a unique set of features,” Reinher explained. “We have city building, economic simulation, 4X elements, and we do all of this in an immersive world. Beyond that, we are offering a fresh perspective on the iconic Roman setting.”

Choose Your Path in the Roman Empire

In the game, players step into the role of a Roman governor dispatched by the emperor to the provinces—specifically Britain, known as Albion at the time. Your core objective is to establish a new settlement, but the narrative offers significant player agency. Upon making contact with the local Celts, you must decide whether to preserve their existing culture or dismantle it to replace it with Roman infrastructure.

Prepare for Launch

For those eager to preview the architectural style and mechanics of the game, a new trailer debuted as part of the Future Games Show at Gamescom, offering a deeper look at the structures and environments players will encounter.

Anno 117: Pax Romana is scheduled for a worldwide launch on November 13, 2025, across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. Prospective players can currently wishlist the title on Steam, with the demo becoming available to the public on September 2.
