What Was the Blood Moon Event?

The Blood Moon event serves as an annual transformation for Dead by Daylight, altering both the visual aesthetic of the horror title and its primary gameplay loop. During the event, players encountered “Blood Cans” scattered across the maps. The core objective shifted from standard generator repairs to filling special Blood Generators with blood. While the traditional generator mechanics remained available for those who preferred them, the event encouraged players to engage with these unique objectives to complete personal and community challenges.

Unlocking Rewards and Event Cosmetics

The 2026 event featured a distinct rewards structure, including high-demand character skins. By completing a total of 12 Blood Moon event quests, players were able to unlock exclusive outfits for Orela Rose and The Spirit. Beyond these character-specific rewards, players earned “Blood Trinkets” by finishing individual quests. These trinkets acted as currency, allowing users to purchase badges, banners, weapons, and tops within the event store.

Expanded Collection: Skins and Weapons

This year’s event expanded upon collections from previous years by introducing new cosmetic variety. Tattered red tops were added for Meg, Jeff, and Gabriel, while specialized Blood Moon-themed weapons were introduced for The Nurse, The Dredge, and The Plague.
